It's hard for me to believe that it has been over a month since I last posted something, but on the other, maybe not so hard to believe...it's been a crazy couple of months.
Here is what has been going on...
10/10/10 - My dear, sweet father-in-law, Theron Ewert passed away. He had suffered with brain cancer for just over a year. I loved him dearly, and I started doing a tribute post about him for my blog, but I believe that I developed righters block or something and that is why I haven't posted anything...but I will hopefully post something soon.
10/22/10 - I reached week 12 in my 2nd pregnancy! A great place to be and it's 'safe' to start telling people. My first trimester I was super sleepy for all 12 weeks, so I was excited to finally have my energy back...but a week or so later, I was sleepy again. So, when Jonathan naps, I nap. And his nap time was usually my blogging time. So that it another reason why I haven't been updating! :)
10/26/10 - As you might know, both of my parents passed away recently. With that, both my sister Amy and I inherited my parents home. Amy and both agreed to wait to do anything with the house since my mom's passing on 9/1/09; and finally on 3/26/10 we had most of the house cleaned out and decided to put the house on the market. 7 long months of being on the market, we FINALLY got an offer. It was a nice offer too! So every weekend since we have been working on the house to finish cleaning it up. That took a lot of time, energy and emotions.
11/4/10 - Jonathan got strep throat for the first time. :( He was such a good little patient and he did get over it pretty quickly. Michael and I did our best to keep healthy and thankfully we didn't get! :)
11/18/10 - My 16 week pregnancy check-up with my doctor. Which also happens to be the appointment where most mommy's and daddy's find out what the gender of their baby will be! Well, baby #2 was having too much fun with his or her umbilical cord and had it placed right in the 'area' where we needed to be looking! :) So I am a very patient mommy and waiting until my 20 week appt, which is 12/16, this Thursday. So hopefully we will find something out then. I am ready to know NOW!
11/21/10 - Well, I stayed healthy for a little over 2 weeks and then I got the worst sinus infection I have EVER HAD! Seriously! On Sunday night I had a 100.5 fever and was just miserable. Thankfully my doctor called me in a Z-Pac that night and Michael called in sick on Monday to stay home and help me take care of Jonathan. (such a sweetheart!) I was worried that I wasn't feeling better fast enough, but just in time for Thanksgiving on Thursday, I was feeling much better!
11/25/10 - Thanksgiving we went to Pat's (my mother-in-law) house, along with Anna Marie and Brian (my sister-in-law and brother-in-law). Olga, Michael's grandma who lives with Pat was also with us. Brian fried the turkey, as he does every year and was soooo good, as it is every year. We all brought dishes to contribute to the meal and had a wonderful meal, despite the absence of Theron.
11/26/10 - Thanksgiving times 2! We went to Amy, Waylen and Scarlet's house for a second feast! It was so good and so fun! Amy made a ham and I brought my famous green bean casserole...etc we had lots and lots of yummy food. Jonathan and Scarlet love each other so much! It's always so cute to see them together.
12/4/10 - The 1st Annual O'Brien Christmas Party - A little something that I threw together! Ha! It was a super fun gathering with my cousins from San Antonio, Austin and Coppell. An alternative name: The I-35 Corridor Christmas Party. It was so awesome how everything came together so smoothly and quickly, it was meant to be and boy did I need it!! Thank you to everybody who came! I'll post more with pictures in a bit.
12/6/10 - Amy and I closed on mom and dad's house. The day before, on Sunday, I went to the house by myself and that was extremely sad, as you would expect. On Monday, I arrived at the closing and I saw the buyers, so I approached them and introduced myself and wow, they are really nice people. After talking with them for a while, I was surprisingly no longer sad, but excited. I felt peace about it and knew it was time to let go.
12/10/10-12/12/10 - Michael, Jonathan and I went on our first road trip as a family and we went to Galveston!!! It was Michael's Birthday on Saturday 12/11 and since he won't let me throw him a party or anything like that and since we hadn't been out of town in a very long time, he agreed to let me take him out of town! And wow, what a wonderful trip we had. Jonathan was perfect, all the food was excellent, the hotel was awesome, everywhere we went we had fun...it was just perfect! I took 625 pictures, and will post soon!
So that is what we have been up to! And I know it is only going to get crazier with Christmas around the corner! :)
