Parent Teacher Committee

And with the end of the year, Kathryn and I also concluded co-chairing of the PTC, aka The Parent Teacher Committee! After a really rocky first semester, the second semester was record-breaking! We were excited to be apart of it!
For the total of the year, we raised just over $900!!! Amazing! Since this committee had never raised this much money before, it was actually kind of difficult deciding what to spend the money on! In the end, the Director and Assistant Director decided they wanted to benefit the kids by getting really nice scooters and trikes. (They have some, but they are cheaply made and break often) These are lifetime warranty, made for preschools, extremely durable...and really expensive. So we were only able to purchase 4 with about $700. But hopefully they will last a really, really long time!

We purchased 2 scooters and 2 trikes (one of the trikes is missing from the shot).

I had to let Jonathan and Ben ride them before the end of the year! They were so excited about it with me! Jonathan said, "Gosh Mom, you must really like my school." ;)

All smiles...and that is why I wanted to be apart of this!

The Last Day of School and After Party

The last of the last day of school pictures...I think! It was a fun day and I had my camera handy to snap away! I had decided to put together a "year book" as J's end-of-year gift. So I wanted to make sure a captured the last day the best I could!
One of the other mom's and I planned an after school party at the park for both Pre-K classes! It was a fun way to end Jonathan's time at the Day School!

A tearful moment for mommy...the last time the boys will go to the same school for 3 years! This was on Wednesday, Ben's last day.

Our teachers gifts. The larger cookies are snicker doodle and I got some yummy snicker doodle coffee to go with it!

The teachers gift bags. I found these and loved them! They also came with matching pencil bags inside! 2 Teachers for Jonathan, 2 Teachers for Ben and the Director and Assistant Director! I love them all and wanted to get them something I thought they would use! For the teachers, we also included a Willow Tree Angle that is holding an Apple.

And here is an idea from Pinterest that I gave Jonathan's class at the party!
I love this picture! We had just parked for drop off on the last day. Jonathan is still talking to Daddy (Michael) on my cell phone, a morning tradition on the way to school. Taryn came over to show us her drawing and a worm she found. Ben is waving at her!

You see the worm and the drawing? ;) (I have a similar photo of these two on the first day of school!)

Drop off for the last time for these best buds!

Jonathan on the mat with his friends. Mrs. Koons trying to escape the picture!

Poor Benny just gets naps in when he can! He still loves the morning time for naps. 11:00 am is the magic hour. He will typically nap for 2-3 hours. But that makes it hard to do anything during the day. On J's last day of school I had to wake the poor guy up so we can be on time!

Pick up time!!!

Shelley, Brady's mom brought all the kids balloons!!! They loved it!

Jonathan and Avery!

Ben wanted a balloon too...

Jonathan saying good-bye to his teachers!

Now it's party time! We all met at Chisholm Park down the road!

Taryn pushing Ben on the swing!

The lil's, minus Mallory. All us mom's were pregnant at the same time with these -not-so-little-anymore- kids! Ben, Kellan and Mazie!!!

Snack Time!

Ben says, "I want one...or two, or three!"

J got one!

Quincy, Blayne and Brylie!

Both boys are loving their Popsicles!

It's a little big for his mouth...

J with Mile's, one of his best bud's!

And another...

Some of the group!

J and Ben having fun!

A great group shot! We sure will miss these kids! It has been a great time getting to know them all!

The Last Day of School with Favorites

At the end of May, Jonathan completed his Pre-K school year. It was a very bitter sweet time for me. He is getting so big! He will be starting Kindergarten in just a few months!!! He had an AMAZINGLY awesome last year at the Day School (the pre-school he has attended for the past 3 years)! We loved his teachers and his friends. He never got in trouble, no bad notes being sent home, no time-out reports! He is just a sweet, well behaved guy! We couldn't be more proud of him. But beyond his great behavior and willingness to learn, the biggest topic this year has been his growth!!! The first 2 pictures will show you the difference from the first day of school to the last. Around 2-3 inches!!! I know for a fact that he grew 1 inch from January to April!!! He has gone up 3 sizes in his shoes. He has gone up at least 3 if not 4 clothing sizes. He was a 5T, but now he is a Small/Medium in Boys!!

Last day

First Day

Ben attended the Day School for the first time this year. He started in the Toddler Class, just like Jonathan did. Ben only went one day a week. It was really great, he could have fun, play, meet friends and learn...and I could go to the dr, dentist, get my hair cut on my own! Ben's teachers were awesome too! Ben had the same teacher, Mrs. Christy, that Jonathan had when he was in the Toddler Class. He too is very well behaved and always had great reports! The teachers would tell me how they would brag on him to other teachers. They would say that he was so fun, and easy going, quote "he is down for anything"! The teachers would tell me that during story time, (which Ben LOVES reading) Ben would be the only kid to sit still and listen to the whole story! I LOVED hearing that! Ben asks me daily to take him "to church, pway wiff fiends"! (Church is school and school is church and he Loves to play with friends!)
Ben also grew a lot! He is getting very long and starting to get lean! You can see he has grown at least 1 brick, if not 1 1/2!!
Last Day of Toddler Class! May 16th! He was actually able to give me the answers!

First Day of Toddler Class! Sept 5th! Jonathan is pulling Ben's face back for me...so helpful!

More Pictures from the LAST Day of School...I just can't get enough of these kids!

Mother's Day at Fossil Rim

Fossil Rim is one of my favorite places to go, but since it is a couple hours drive from our house, and it takes 2-3 hours to drive through, it's a full day trip!Michael decided it should be our Mother's Day tradition! So we were all very excited to go this year! The boys made it so special with their excitement! Ben has talked about it almost every day since. It was a great day!

A Panoramic view from the top!

Me and my boys!

Michael and the boys!

Mr. Giraffe. My favorite part of the trip!

We let the boys walk around inside the van. Ben especially loved being "free'! We only drove about 5 miles an hour and stopped frequently, so they were safe!

Ostrich approaching!

He is giving me the eye.

J loved feeding the animals!

Ben didn't want to feed them, but he sure did love it!

I touched his antlers, they were hard, but soft, he is such a beautiful animal.

A close up!

Watching all the giraffes eat in the distance.

Funny stance!

The ostriches and emus are mean, so the window is up. Jonathan and Emu had a good time looking at each other.

Ugly and beautiful at the same time.

To finish out the trip, Rhino!
