We also agreed we did NOT want it at our house, so I searched for a month at least for the perfect location. I found a lot of cool places, but a hefty price tag came with all of them. I kept going back to the park down the street, it is everything he loves, it's free, and the only risk is the weather! So we finally decided on the park and prayed for no rain! Thank goodness we had no rain and it was a beautiful day and a perfect choice!!
We invited all the kids from Jonathan's class at school, a few other kids that we are friends with and family. We had such an awesome turnout! We were so happy!
The party started at 10:00 am, the kids ran around and played on the play ground. Around 10:45 we walked over to the pond and fed the ducks, although the ducks weren't that interested! Then we went back to the picnic table and the kids had a light lunch, we sang Happy Birthday and everyone had cupcakes! The kids went back to playing, then before I knew it, it was all over around noon. It was fun!
Of course the most important part is, did the Birthday boy have fun? I would say YES! He was smiling and running around the whole time! Then after we were home later he kept telling us about it and who was there and how much fun he had. Then when he woke up this morning he told us about it again! I love it and I do believe that is a true sign of success!
Thank you to everyone who came helped and shared this day with us! Michael and I both took a lot of photos and I know at least 4 other people did too, so I will shared my favorites that we took and update you later with the others!
