Benjamin's 1st Birthday

Our little Benny-boo turned 1 on April 29th! This year we decided to let Jonathan have his own party on his actual birthday and invite all his friends. But we also wanted to have a party for Ben to celebrate his 1st Birthday. So we invited family to both parties and said, if you choose 1, please choose the party on the 29th. We also invited some close friends!! We made that more of a double party to celebrate Jonathan with the family too. I know the boys had a blast, I hope everyone else did too! Thank you so much to everyone who came and made the boy's Birthday's so special!
I'll admit that I was a little exhausted by the time this party started. So much so, that I forgot a bunch of food that I had ready in the garage refrigerator. Oh well, I guess I am officially open to suggestions on how to celebrate two Birthday's 1 week apart! It was fun, but I think we are all still recovering!
As you can imagine, lots of pictures...I'll try not to post ALL my favorites! ;)

The Birthday Boys! (and best buds!) When Jonathan saw this picture he said, "Hey, where did my color go?"

OUTDOOR PLAY TIME...Cars, Swings, Bubbles, and Airplanes! Oh My!
Chris (Hudson's Daddy), Hudson, Will, Ben and Waylen (Will's Daddy)! All the little dudes congregated together! Hudson is 11 months and Will is 16 months!

Chris, Shannon, Hudson, Michael and Lisa...All trying to figure out what to do with little walking Birthday Boy! (Ben is trying to go play with the big kids!) Ben had been walking on and off for about a month and a half, but on his birthday he decided crawling was not cool anymore.
Scarlet = Pure FUN
It was Ben's nap time and he is just about to fall asleep here! Plus a great shot of the siblings!
Jonathan's favorite phrase is "Double Trouble". I think I like it when he says it, because he doesn't quite understand it just yet. Like Ben will drop food on the floor and J will shake his head and say, "Double Trouble Ben". - But one day I will show this to him and tell him, THIS is Double Trouble!!! :)
Scarlet, Joseph, Owen and Joe...and our little hot-rod taking Katie for a spin!

Holly, Ben and Owen!

Ba Ba Ba Benny and the Bubble Machine.

The family all gathered around: Waylen, Will, Amy, Leanna, Sarah, Holly, Joe and Owen.

CAKE TIME!!!!

Ben's Cake!! Vanilla Cake with Butter Cream Frosting and Green Sugar Sprinkles on top. So funny because Jonathan's first cake was Sugar Free Applesauce Cake with Greek Yogurt Frosting. Funny how things change with the second one...Oh Well!

 What is this???

 Don't Care, 'cause it's good!

 Sweet Boy.

Jonathan's turn! He had his very own cake too! Chocolate Cake with Butter Cream Frosting and...lots and lots of other stuff! I let him decorate it himself! He had too much fun doing it! I gave him bowls of candies and jars of sugar sprinkles! I have tons of pictures of him decorating, so I will have to share it soon too! There are M&M's, Skittles, Gummy Worms, Gummy Bears, Runts, and Orange Slices - Pretty gross if you ask me!

This is what everyone else ate. It is supposed to look like a Caterpillar.

The Food Table...minus the food I forgot to put out (I won't forgive myself for this for a while). It was Hungry Caterpillar Themed. So we had all the food from the book. Example: On Monday he ate an Apple, On Tuesday is ate 2 Pears (I forgot the Pears)...etc. On Saturday he ate a whole bunch of stuff and I tried to include of all of it!

PRESENT TIME!!!!

Pat, Olga and Michael starting off the opening!
Jonathan and I did a lot of the opening too! The other kiddos helped with playing with the new toys! it was so much fun!
Benny doesn't know where to start!!
Taking a break to hug Daddy!
Good times!

Stopping to read one of his new books!

LOOK AT THIS! So many wonderful and generous gifts and so many wonderful people! Thank you so much everyone!

Holly (you can see her knees behind Scarlet) is getting the kids to JUMP! I love Olga's face!

A Group Photo of all the kids! Owens profile, Scarlet, Ben, Will, Katie, Joseph and Jonathan!!!! Love these kids!

Now the party is officially over...Benny says, "It's my party and I'll cry if I want too!" - He was just tired and wanted OFF the couch!

Thank you again everyone!

Jonathan's 4th Birthday

My big boy turned 4 this past Saturday! And per his very specific request we had a party here at the house with all his friends and it was airplane themed! I think we all had a ball! It was a beautiful day, a high of 75!!! Lots and lots of friends came!!! Jonathan said he loved it and I can't ask for more than that!!!

The week before the party he told me, "I just want the whole world to come to my party, cause I love everybody and I want everybody to come party with me!" It was then when I started stressing about attendance! He had high hopes for lots of people! So I just want to THANK YOU so much to all the friends who came and made the day special for Jonathan!! It meant so much to him (and me!!)!!! We had 12 of his sweet friends - he has such a great group of friends! I am so thankful!

We opened presents first thing from Michael and me! He is showing off his new Dallas Cowboy's Hat!!

He got a new "Cars 2" set. Mater and a British Double Decker Bus.

WOODY!!! To go with the Buzz that he already has! He loved him!

Other special gifts were a fishing pole and tackle box. More on that later.

Special Birthday Brunch! His request: French Toast!!! We have to wrap him in a towel when he eats syrup! :)
Everyone loved the invitation, so I had to include it! I had fun putting it together! (I blurred out the personal stuff). I just printed it on card stock and used my paper cutter and Jonathan helped me stuff them in envelopes and address and stamp them!

He really wanted to help us get ready for the party! Michael and I were flying around the house getting things prepared and poor guy was following us around trying to help!! So finally, I found the perfect job for him! He inserted the toothpicks in the bottom of the planes that went on top of his cupcakes! He did such a good job!!!!

Leading up to the party, he was insistent on one thing: an airplane cake! I am not the kind of person who makes 'shaped cakes', so I was dreading this honestly! I kept trying to talk him into just the cupcakes with the planes on top! Ugh. It was definitely a labor of love. I was up way too late the night before finishing it. There is like 14 lbs of icing on there. It does not look good if you ask me, but he loved it and that is all that matters!

I found this idea on Pinterest. Instead of having a buffet table of random foods, I did 2 mixed cups. A sweet and a savory. This is the Sweet cup, it has: M&M's, Mini Oreo's, Teddy Grams, Animal Crackers, 1 Chocolate Chip Cookie and 1 Wafer Stick. I think that it was a big hit with the kids!
This is the Savory Cup: Pretzel Sticks, Popcorn, Oyster Crackers and Multi colored Space themed Gold Fish!

I love this picture! Taryn, Jonathan and Brady! Such sweet kids!!!
Jonathan and Grayson! Grayson is my friend Angela's son! They are such good buds!
Ben is hanging out on his tracker! I think he had a blast! But it did make him miss his afternoon nap, which he wasn't very happy about, but it's okay!

All the kids on the swing set!!

Bubbles!

I bought about 150 foam planes large and small. I showed the kids how to fly (throw) them! I think they had a blast! Jonathan said it was his most favorite part of the party!!

Jonathan, Taryn, Sabrina, Owen, Grayson, Chloe, Brady and I think that is August!

 Sabrina, Grayson, Brady and August!

Look at Grayson go!! He was really good at throwing the planes!!

Angela with her youngest Conner and our busy boy Ben!

 Airplane Carnage!

I was showing the kids how to throw the paratrooper!

I handed my camera off to Kirsi and she took the next few photos - thank you so much!!! I love this one of JJ!

Kirsi's daughter, Taryn with the paratrooper!

Piper was one of the best, if not THE best airplane thrower! She started throwing them straight up and they went far! Piper is one of Jonathan's really good friends from school and church!

Lily and Taryn on the seesaw!

Michael needed some helpers to refill the bubble machine...or at least, they thought he did! :) And Ben found himself a balloon!

Back in business with the bubbles! Brady and August!

Sabrina, Piper, I think that is Brady, Taryn and August all stand with JJ to help him blow out the candles!! One of them said, "You've got a really long name!"

Lily, another one of Jonathan's special friends!

Chloe, who declared her love and willingness to marry Jonathan earlier in the year!

Halley, Brady W's little sister and cute as a button!

Present opening time!!!! All the kids are on hand to help Jonathan open them! Thank you for all the cool gifts!!! They are really neat! I think this is the Cars Tokyo Spin out! He loves it!

I just love the look on his face in this one.

I love this photo too...all of their faces are different.

After everyone left, Michael and I gave Jonathan his last big gift...a Dune Racer!!!! It is so cool and he loves it so much (what kid wouldn't?)!!!! Michael and I both wanted one as kids, too bad we are too big for it now! :) It is also for Ben to play with too when he is ready!!! We decided to wait until after the party to give it to him since it would be chaotic if we gave it to him during! So all the kids are welcome to come back and take a spin! :)

Jonathan drove around the yard for another hour! A very good birthday indeed! He is still recouping (we all are actually). It was totally worth it!! I still can't believe he is 4!!!

The Boys Pre-Birthday Photos

Since the boys will be having Birthdays starting in a couple of weeks, I asked my friend and photographer, Kirsi Ingram, to take some photo's of the boys! I think we got some really great ones! It was a little difficult though, Ben wanted to explore and be free, so we were constantly running after him and putting him back on the mat and he grew very tired of that! I got my work out indeed. Jonathan was a great sport and helped us out with Ben, such a great big brother!! It was all worth it! Enjoy...

He would NOT sit still...which I guess is him in real life anyway. So here is the REAL Ben - on the move!

I LOVE this one of my big 4 year old!

Even though Ben doesn't look super happy, I love this one! Such sweetie pies!

I think this is my favorite of Ben...maybe because he still looks like a baby, in all the other photos he looks so grown up!

Yes, hands and FEET went into the cake! Yum!
